It was another day Sunday April 8\r\nfor the Immanuel College Chapel Mission Team, to preach Christ and testify to\r\nthe power of the Resurrection.  This time\r\nthe venue was Fashina, the ancestral village of the late Olubadan, Oba Samuel\r\nOdulana Odugade, who died in January 2015 and was buried in the village.  The village is located some 18 kilometres\r\nnorth of Ibadan.

On arrival we found most of the\r\nvillagers already sited under a tree which provides a wide shade in front of\r\nthe Baale’s palace.  Among the crowd of\r\nsixty three villagers was the Baale himself, Chief Solomon Odugade, the late\r\nOlubadan’s brother. Three of his daughters were on the frontline, singing\r\nchoruses in praise of God the Father who allowed His only begotten Son to\r\nsacrifice His life to rescue fallen humanity.

Appropriately Very Revd Idowu Ariyo,\r\nChaplain of Immanuel College Chapel, who led the Mission Team, settled on John\r\n3:16 and 17 as bible references for his message.  He told the villagers that it was the love\r\nGod has for His human creation that led Him to allow Jesus, His precious Son,\r\nto suffer and die for sinful humanity. He had the option to destroy them, but\r\nHe chose not to in the hope that after Christ’s sacrifice on the cross, there\r\nwould be genuine repentance and man would be reconciled to God.

The village audience listened\r\nwith rapt attention.  Practically all of\r\nthem are church going Christians.  It is\r\nour hope that the message of the resurrection will touch their hearts afresh.

\r\n\r\n

We prayed for the sick and the\r\noppressed including an elderly man whose movement depended on the use of a\r\nwalking stick.

The next item in our programme\r\nwas the laying out of the clothes sent by our partners in the United States,\r\nthe Redeemed Christian Church of God, Baltimore.  All the 63 villagers made their pick in the\r\nfollowing order-children, youth and adults.

The Baale expressed the gratitude\r\nof his people to the Immanuel College Chapel Mission Team and our partners.

Our host minister, the Pastor in\r\ncharge of St. Andrews Church, Bamgbola Village, closed the event with a prayer.
