Week 1: October 5
Topic: The Flesh and What it means
Moderator: Mrs. C.O. Afolabi
a. In the literal sense the flesh is that part of the human or animal body which
provides covering for the bones. 1 Sam 17:44
b. In the spiritual sense the flesh represents human nature as distinct from
the soul and the spirit, Lev 17:11
c. The flesh, human nature, is weak. It cannot achieve anything on it’s own. 1
Peter 1:24
Week 2: October 12
Topic: Walking in the Flesh
Moderator: Mrs. A.K. Shyllon
Praise Worship Leader: Mrs. Remi Keyede
1. The natural man is sold to the flesh. He does not know God. Indeed he is an
enemy of God. Eph 2:1-3; 11-13
2. Because he does not know, nor accept God, he cannot please him Rom 8:8
3. Those who live in the flesh are servants of sin. Their ultimate end is physical
and spiritual death, Rom 6:16; Rom 6:23
4. The natural man has sense knowledge of sight, hearing, taste, smell and
touch but lacks revelation knowledge and without revelation knowledge no
one can relate to God meaningfully. Ps 25:14, Prov. 3:32; Eph. 4:17-18
5. Because they have turned their backs on God He too has given up on them,
Rom 1:24-28
Week 3: October 19
Topic: The Works of The Flesh
Moderator: Professor Bayo Odebiyi
Praise Worship Leader: Mrs. C.S. Akingbade
1. Paul the Apostle lists the works of the flesh in Gal 5:19-21. They are actually
the works of Satan and his hosts.
2. These are the works that Jesus came to the world to destroy, Lk 4:18; 1
John 3:8
3. Many men of knowledge and distinction bear Christian names. Yet their
level of spirituality may be quite low. These Christian “babes” may be as
vulnerable to satanic influence as non-believers. Rom 10:1-3
